In the 5th Round of the John Inverarity Shield (Premier U13) the boys in Blue (Willetton) took on the undefeated Perth. As the match progressed the centre of attention surrounded one young talent, Thewmin Kannangara. He batted at No. 5 and made a solid 15 helping the team to reach a respectable total of 154. His intent to make an impact did not end there.
Thewmin, the off-spinner with a Muralitharan like action stepped up to the crease in the 21st over to bag himself 3 wickets. The wickets of the highest run scorers for the season who were determined to bring the game home for Perth.
In the Field, Thewmin took 2 catches. Assisting his spin twin Mehraj Matharoo (as referred by team mates) to his first district wicket and skipper Mitchell Kakura.
